What is Tegrity Lecture Capture?
Tegrity Lecture Capture is available via statewide contract to all instructors in the Washington State Community and Technical College system.
Tegrity is cloud-based software that records the content shown on a computer screen and/or projector, such as a PowerPoint presentation, along with the instructor's audio and if desired, webcam video. Tegrity captures, stores, and indexes this content online for students to access at their convenience. Tegrity users can also create a simultaneous 'web cast' where students can view the lecture while it is being recorded. This is only one-way streaming to the student. There is no way for student to interact with the instructor. Many instructors also use Tegrity to record videos that students watch before coming to class (flipped classroom model), use Tegrity to provide feedback back directly to individual students, and/or have students create recordings.
If you are interested in using Tegrity, either in conjunction with Canvas or as a stand alone product, contact the eLearning or IT office on your campus. For free professional development, support, and tutorials, please visit Tegrity Training Series Links to an external site. page.
