About the Guides

The WA Checklist Guides are one of many supporting resources for the WA Course Design Checklist. The Guides provide context and explanation of the individual Standards and Indicators on the WA Course Design Checklist (V4). The WA Checklist Guides will also be used as the instructional content for the WA Checklist professional development experience and course enhancement process.

The V4 Guides are currently under reconstruction and will be a little messy and incomplete until the reorganization is finished and all of the new content is added. For the last few months, I've been working on revising the Guides architecture to align with the new V4 structure and will begin writing the new, and revising the existing, explanations soon. Please check back occasionally to see what's been updated. Most of the V3 Guides content is included in the V4 Guides, it's just been relocated or renumbered. If you need to, you can access the retired V3 Guides content from the Home page of this course.

You're invited to contribute to the WA Checklist Guides content. I value collaboration and need your help to complete the Guides and make them truly useful. Here's how you can get involved:

Do you want to help draft part of the Guides? If so, please visit the page titled How can I can help write the WA Checklist Guides? to learn more.
Do you know someone who would be willing to share an example of how to apply one of the WA Checklist Indicators - maybe it's you? If so, please consider volunteering an example from your own course or nominating a colleague to share an example of how they are incorporating a particular WA Checklist Standard or Indicator in their course. Please email Alissa Sells at asells@sbctc.edu for information about how to share an example.
Do you have a favorite course design resource that has transformed your practice? If so, please share it with us by filling our Share a Resource, Reference, or Recommended Reading form. Collected resources will be reviewed and used as recommended reading and references for the WA Checklist Indicators.
