Welcome to the Accessibility Micro-Courses!

This course is composed of multiple micro-courses (modules). Each micro-course focuses on a particular topic and/or software program.

We call these "micro-courses" to emphasize that each of the skills modules is largely independent of every other module, even though all the modules are in a single LMS course.

Micro-Course Pacing & Due Dates

The micro-courses are self-paced. Participants can take as little or as much time as they'd like to complete a course. Each micro-course (module) takes 2 - 3 hours to complete.

Discussion Forums

There is a dedicated discussion for each micro-course. This is a space where you can ask questions, share tips, and report back on successes. The discussions might not be monitored, depending on whether this course is facilitated, so feel free to respond to others if you have a relevant response or something that you would like to share.

Prerequisite Courses:

It is strongly recommended to complete the first two micro-courses: Understanding Accessibility & Accessible Design Concepts in order to provide a conceptual understanding that is useful in all of the other modules.

A third module, Universal Design, is also recommended as it provides helpful foundational information, especially for instructors who are developing learning resources and activities.

Note: It is strongly recommended that you complete Accessible Word Documents prior to completing Accessible Emails and Accessible PDFs because many of the techniques outlined in those modules use features available in Microsoft Word.
